What do you give the person who has everything? What do you do when you just can’t find a gift that expresses what you really want to share with someone special? You. You give them a little bit of you.
One of the greatest gifts we can give is the gift of ourselves and our time. What’s so wonderful about this gift is that the possibilities are endless. The point is just to get together with the recipient, what you do is secondary or may not even really matter at all.
What can you do? What about …
- go to the opera, ballet or symphony
- bake cookies
- go out to lunch
- make dinner together then set a nice table and enjoy the fruits of your labors
- go for a walk
- take a weekend hike
- go camping
- go to a water park
- attend a concert or a movie
- go fishing
- go to the park, sit on a bench and people watch, eat a picnic
- make a craft
- paint
- entertain them with a talent of yours (draw their portrait, sing a song, demonstrate dance or martial arts)
The point is to spend some time together and enjoy each other. You can do an activity that you both enjoy or you can just do nothing. Don’t stress about it, keep it simple and you might just find this to be the best gift you’ve ever given.
