I always enjoy wrapping my gifts in different and unique ways (that is when I have handled this task ahead of time and have time to do more than pop it in a bag and stuff some tissue paper on top:) And I especially love it when the wrapping is actually a gift too. It’s great when the wrapping begs the question, “Is this the gift or the wrapping?”
Some of my favorites are:
- wrapping a baby shower gift in a pretty blanket then drawing the four corners together and pulling them through the center of a teething ring or donut-shaped toy and flouncing out the edges
- rolling up the gift inside a beach towel and tying a cord at each end so it looks like a giant piece of candy
- sewing up a gift bag from fun or fancy fabric and tying it shut with a cloth ribbon
- packing everything in a basket and covering it with a pretty towel, blanket, napkins or other cloth item
- putting a gift item(s) in any other useful container (ie. tote bag, hat box, photo box, planter). If the top is open I simply cover it with a pretty or fun fabric item
It’s a simple matter of fun meeting function.
