Do you believe, as some do, that love is hard work? Or do you believe that love is easy and all about warm fuzzies? Do you believe in love at first sight or in taking time to build a relationship? I’ve spent a lot of time lately talking to experts, reading and thinking about love and relationships. [...]

Now that the big day has passed, the to-do list is torn up, and gifts have been opened, it’s time for vacation. The kids are out of school, you and your hubby have some vacation time, and you’re wondering what to do during Christmas break. I know moms everywhere are pulling out craft projects, games and ‘field trips’ to keep the kids happy and occupied. But what about you? And what about that great guy you married? I’ve heard people say they would like to make their Christmas cards but they just don’t have time. I’ve thought about doing this myself but have stopped because it just feels so overwhelming to make a huge stack of cards. The girls have been training and doing other fun activities and it all culminated in a 5k run. We were supposed to arrive at the race by 5:00 with opening ceremonies at 6:00 and the race starting at 6:30. The only problem was that it was about 45 degrees and raining.

I posted a new article about celebrating Mothers’ Day on www.bizymoms.com. Here’s an excerpt and the link:

There are essentially three ways you can celebrate Mothers’ Day:

1. The way you want
2. The way your husband and kids want
3. The way your mother wants

All kidding aside, I’ve always found Mothers’ Day to be an odd holiday. Read more…

I was blown away by Lisa’s simple advice on yesterday’s Heart Filled Holidays radio show! Just one comment changed everything for me as it shifted the way I think about communication. The idea that we have control over our message feels really great. It takes away the helplessness we sometimes feel when faced with a difficult relationship in our life. It gets rid of the whining and moves us forward, looking for solutions.
