Today is another fun holiday, it’s ‘Love Your Pet Day’. If you’re a pet owner you know exactly what that means to your animal. You know what they enjoy doing most with you. For our dog that means spending as much time as possible outdoors, and the more time spent walking in the woods the better. The really beautiful thing about doing this is the fact that it’s good for both of us; he’s happy and so am I.

Only one week ’til Christmas and the stress is building! Suddenly, with the passing of the last weekend before Christmas, everything has hit the critical list. All those little things that were “no big deal” are suddenly a very big deal. And by now I’m sure you’ve had at least one moment of wanting to smack your spouse with a roll of wrapping paper and tell him to suck up and pitch in. Or perhaps there’s a litany of shouts to get the kids to clean up after themselves. And maybe you’re muttering under your breath about all the things that need to be done and how you have to do it all yourself. Ahhh, the sounds of the season:)

The holiday season is traditionally one of the busiest times of the year. It’s also a time when holiday stress rears its ugly head and people are wondering how to avoid holiday weight gain. Everyone is on the lookout for simple ways to stay healthy and reduce holiday stress while still having fun. My advice is simple: eat, drink, and be merry.
Eat:
Eat a healthy snack at home before attending an event; you’ll be less likely to pile up the high fat, high calorie foods that prevail at this time of year.

It’s the day after Thanksgiving and it’s Friday so I thought we could all use a little laugh. After the craziness of yesterday it’s a great time to take a lighter look at some of our Thanksgiving traditions, including the unusual or just plain weird food that shows up. Since no one can so this better than Mitch Albom I’ll simply send you on over to him. Click here to laugh with Mitch.

This is it guys – it’s that time, the day is coming and you can’t avoid it. No I’m not talking about Thanksgiving, and no, I’m not talking about Christmas; although those are coming too and you can’t avoid them either. The day I’m talking about is Black Friday. Which is quickly turning into one of the most controversial days of the year.
Finding Happiness in Life ~ To Sing or Not to Sing

I commented on one of Cindy Ashton’s posts on FB the other day where she made the comment that anyone could sing. I made a joke about how anyone might be able to sing but that doesn’t mean people will listen, and certainly not to me. I was being funny and poking at my singing ability but she had an interesting response.

I was sitting here working like crazy and feeling a little blah. I ignored the feeling and kept on going, after all today is a very busy day and I must get everything on my to-do list done (and hopefully a little bit more). After a while the blah feeling started to become oppressive so I finally stopped long enough to pick my head up and look around. As I looked around my office I noticed a little light peeking in around the curtains and I started to wonder what the weather was like outside.

Halloween is a time of ghosts, goblins and all the frightening things that go with them. Scary movies, ghoulish costumes and ghost stories are all just part of the fun. Or are they? Although most kids will get a kick out of creating a little fear factor, there are those whose imaginations take them past the point of fun.

A mom’s life is wonderful and full, sometimes too full. Sometimes we find that our to-do list and our commitments are outstripping our energy or just taking more hours than we have in the day. We often notice this when holidays or special events pop up because there just isn’t any room left to make them happen much less enjoy them. Well, the good news is that there are things you can do and I’ve posted an article that can help over on Bizymoms so pop on over and read it here (click through to the blog for the live link).
